About this dive site
This dive site offers a straightforward yet rewarding experience. The area features three distinct levels, allowing for a controlled and relaxed descent. Starting at a platform just 5 meters deep, divers are immediately greeted by a lively array of fish – parrotfish, trumpetfish, sergeantfish, and blue chrominids – who curiously observe the bubbles. A highlight is encountering green sea turtles, often considered the queens of this underwater realm. Visitors should also keep an eye out for playful octopuses and squid, known to interact with camera lenses. Moving deeper to 14 meters, a vast expanse of rock formations provides shelter for numerous species, including conger eels, groupers, flounders, blennies, crabs, shrimp, and sea urchins. The exceptional visibility allows for clear views. At the final level – an underwater sandbank – a diverse ecosystem unfolds: schools of angelfish gracefully navigate amongst the rocks, accompanied by the tracks of impressive visitors like emperors, sharks, needlefish, lionfish, and a significant congregation of moray eels, creating a truly immersive experience. Mid-tank, divers can begin exploring nearby rock crevices for additional photographic opportunities. Upon returning to the initial platform near the cliff face, a small cave, ‘El Bufadero’, at 5 meters deep is worth investigating; it’s famous for its giant anemones.
