About this dive site

This dive site features the Quiquere Wrecks, three historic wooden fishing boats deliberately sunk to create an artificial reef. Built in the last century for fishing, they now ironically serve as thriving habitats for marine life. Divers can explore these well-preserved wrecks, navigating their structures which offer a fascinating glimpse into their past while providing shelter and hunting grounds for various species.

The wrecks are particularly renowned for sightings of Angel sharks, a favorite among divers, which can often be found resting on the sandy bottom. Other common inhabitants include schools of Trigger fish, impressive Barracudas, graceful Sting rays, elusive Octopus, and curious Cuttlefish, creating a dynamic underwater ecosystem.

The Quiquere Wrecks are suitable for divers of all levels due to their accessible depths and generally mild conditions. While no specific season is highlighted as 'best', the Canary Islands typically offer good diving conditions year-round. Divers should bring a keen eye for spotting camouflaged marine life, especially the Angel sharks, which blend well with their surroundings.
