Sa Bauma (Illa de Tossa)

This dive site, Sa Bauma, located near Tossa de Mar on the Illa de Tossa, offers a multilevel dive experience suitable for experienced divers. It features different routes, catering to varied skill levels and preferences. The primary route reaches a maximum depth of 22 meters while a more challenging route for advanced divers can go down to 30 meters. The site is well-known for its diverse underwater topography and its vibrant marine ecosystem. The marine life at Sa Bauma is rich and varied, including octopuses, moray eels, rascacios (scorpionfish), and large white gorgonians. The site is particularly well-known for its abundance of fish, with particularly large schools present during the peak summer months. Divers can expect a visually captivating exploration of various underwater landscapes. The best time to visit Sa Bauma is during the summer months (June-September) for optimal visibility, warmer water temperatures, and the chance to witness those impressive schools of fish. It is recommended to use Nitrox for longer bottom times, and both photography and videography are highly recommended. Due to the depths involved and potential currents, this dive site is not suitable for snorkeling or freediving.
