About this dive site
This dive site is located in the walls of Cabo Tiñoso, west of Cala Cerrada. It’s known as ‘El Tajo Colorao,’ due to the striking reddish hues present in the rock formations. This area offers a beautiful underwater landscape with sunlight and clear waters, making it suitable for divers of all levels. The dive begins using a float line anchored near the wall; descending approximately 16 meters, you’ll explore this fascinating zone. Expect to encounter diverse Mediterranean marine life including sargassum seaweed, groupers, barracuda, conger eels, and various invertebrates like sponges, sea stars, and nudibranchs. The seabed is characterized by rocky outcrops resulting from past rockfalls. Experienced divers can extend their exploration with a ‘caribeña’ dive to Cala Cerrada, where they may also observe posidonia seagrass meadows – an indicator of the area's excellent water quality.
