About this dive site

This dive site is a remarkably diverse location, affectionately known as ‘Critters Alley,’ just off the shore and at the edge of a drop-off. It’s a fantastic destination for muck diving enthusiasts seeking an abundance of macro life. The seabed consists primarily of sandy areas interspersed with patches of seaweed, small bommies, and sandy flats – offering varied terrain to explore. Regular sightings include common creatures like shrimps, nudibranchs, sap-sucking slugs, seahorses, spiny devilfish, dwarf lionfish, snake eels, and morays. Rarer finds are frequently observed too, including the unusual cockatoo wasp fish, Helmut gurnard, and ghost pipefish. Keep an eye out for unique specimens like Shaun the sheep, frogfish, and a wide assortment of cephalopods. What truly sets this site apart is its ongoing discovery potential; new species and individuals are consistently found here. Due to the nature of the habitat – requiring close inspection of the seabed – it’s best suited for experienced divers comfortable with navigating through the substrate.
