About this dive site
This dive site is a fascinating wreck located on the Phang Nga coast of Thailand. It’s the remains of a platform dredger used in the tin mining industry, which sank during a monsoon storm in 1984. Over these many years, it has become a thriving artificial reef attracting an incredible diversity of marine life. Regular sightings include angelfish, bannerfish, batfish, scorpionfish, lionfish, pufferfish, triggerfish, shrimp, crabs, squid, moray eels, rays, barracuda, snappers, sweetlips and nudibranchs. Occasionally, divers report encountering even rarer creatures like ghost pipefish or, exceptionally, whalesharks! The site offers a relatively shallow dive experience, with maximum depth of 20 meters. Visibility typically ranges from 5 to 12 meters, and currents are generally mild. Water temperatures usually fall between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius.
