This dive site, known as the Construction Artificial Reef, is situated in the sheltered Chaloklum Bay. It comprises four distinct artificial reef structures, all resting at a maximum depth of 18 meters. While there isn't extensive historical detail provided, its name suggests it was intentionally created to enhance marine habitats. Navigation around these structures is straightforward, typically involving exploration of each reef section.
The artificial reefs have successfully attracted a vibrant array of marine life. Divers can expect to encounter schools of barracudas, various snapper species, graceful batfish, and impressive Big eye Trevally. Groupers are also commonly spotted. The reef structures themselves are adorned with soft corals, delicate sea fans, and numerous mussels, providing both shelter and food sources for smaller creatures.
The prime season for diving at the Construction Artificial Reef is from March to October, when conditions are generally most favorable, although visibility can sometimes be inconsistent. With a maximum depth of 18 meters and an average depth of 9 meters, this site is excellent for both scuba divers and freedivers. Its accessible depth and sheltered location make it particularly suitable for beginner divers and those looking for a relaxed exploration.
