This dive site, located between Koh Bida Islands and Koh Maa, offers a remarkable diving experience. The reef is known for its high concentration of leopard sharks, sometimes observed in groups of five to six – a truly special sight. While these magnificent creatures may not always be present, exploring the fringes of the reef frequently yields success. The reef itself is round with several finger-like extensions heading south-west and reaches a maximum depth of approximately 24 meters. As the tide recedes, the uppermost peaks emerge from the water. It’s a vibrant ecosystem teeming with hard and soft corals, providing habitat for an incredible diversity of marine life – including Zebra morays (often spotted), large banded sea kraits (larger than those seen elsewhere), mangrove rays hiding beneath rocks, and occasionally black tip reef sharks or eagle rays. Mating cuttlefish, sometimes in groups of three, and octopus blending seamlessly into their surroundings are also possible encounters. Lionfish and scorpion fish, frequently found in numbers of four to five, alongside various shrimps, nudibranchs, anemone crabs, and many other invertebrates, contribute to the reef’s rich biodiversity. It's a photographer's paradise.
