This dive site, Koh Haa #2, is a small and very easy island to dive, located on the northeast side of the Lagoon. It features a beautiful, gentle slope that starts at a shallow 4 meters and extends down to approximately 28 meters, though the recommended maximum depth for this specific site is 20 meters. Its easy navigation and gentle topography make it accessible and enjoyable for divers of all skill levels.
The site is celebrated for its rich marine life, boasting an abundance of vibrant corals and diverse sea creatures. Among these, the titan triggerfish is notable, particularly on the south side of the slope around 10 meters, where it is known to be very territorial. Divers can expect to see a variety of reef fish, invertebrates, and healthy coral formations throughout the dive.
The best time to visit Koh Haa, like much of Thailand's Andaman Sea, is during the dry season from November to April, offering optimal visibility and calm conditions. While the site is suitable for freedivers due to its relatively shallow average depth and gentle slope, all divers should be aware of the territorial titan triggerfish. Instructors typically know how to safely navigate its area, ensuring a pleasant and safe experience for everyone.
