This dive site, Koh Jorakea, is a small island off the coast of Thailand, serving as a local fishery and monsoon shelter. Underwater, it features natural rock formations, scattered small stones, and artificial coral structures, providing diverse habitats. Remnants of old fishing gear are also present, reflecting its history as an active fishing ground.
The marine life here is rich and varied, encompassing both vibrant reef fish and economically significant species. Divers can commonly spot barracuda, eagle rays, groupers, snappers, mackerels, as well as colorful butterflyfish and angelfish, thriving amongst the corals.
With a shallow maximum depth of 14 meters and an average of 7 meters, Koh Jorakea is excellent for beginners, snorkelers, and freedivers. Visiting outside the monsoon season is recommended for optimal conditions. Its accessible depth and diverse marine environment offer great opportunities for underwater exploration and photography.
