About this dive site

This dive site, Kaş Neptün, is a shallow reef rising to 8 meters, just off Cape Çondur. It's known for its abundant marine life and the presence of an ancient wreck, evidenced by the numerous amphorae scattered around from 20 meters depth along the reef's coastal side. Navigating the site is relatively straightforward, following the reef structure and exploring the wreck debris. The history of the wreck itself remains largely unknown, adding an element of mystery to the dive.

The marine life here is incredibly diverse. You can encounter sea turtles, groupers, lionfish, Mediterranean damselfish, bonito, pufferfish, and cornette fish, amongst others. The reef itself supports a rich variety of smaller invertebrates and algae providing excellent opportunities for macro photography.

The best time to visit is during the warmer months, from May to October, when the water is calm and visibility is at its best. For freedivers, the shallow sections of the reef provide ample opportunities for exploring the rich marine life, while experienced divers can explore the deeper sections of the reef and the wreck. Remember to check the weather conditions and current strength before entering the water and always dive with a buddy.
