About this dive site

This dive site is the wreck of a former passenger boat located just 10 minutes from the port of Mahdia, opposite the town of Rejish. The wreck sits at a relatively shallow depth, making it easily accessible even to novice divers. Navigation is straightforward as the wreck remains largely intact enough to follow, although significant deterioration has occurred over time. The dive is best approached by descending along the side and then exploring the wreck from the bow to the stern. Its history before the sinking is somewhat less known, but its current state provides an interesting and accessible dive.

Marine life found on and around the wreck includes small groupers, magnificent octopuses, and a diverse array of anemones. Other smaller fish and crustaceans are also likely to be present in and around the various crevices the wreck provides. Depending on the season, the surrounding sea floor may also reveal other interesting flora and fauna.

The best time to visit is during the warmer months, likely spring and autumn when visibility tends to be best and the water temperature is more comfortable. For freedivers, the relatively shallow maximum depth makes the site safe and manageable. Divers should be aware that although generally a calm dive site, currents can fluctuate; therefore, it's always wise to check conditions before heading out. Remember to maintain buoyancy and respect the marine environment.
