About this dive site

This dive site is the wreck of the Inch Cape 1, a cargo vessel that served in Dubai and Fujairah. Originally named Gray Swift 2, it was built in the USA and shipped to Dubai in the early 1970s, later decommissioned in 2001. Navigating the wreck requires careful planning, as penetration might be restricted based on its condition. The wreck sits on a relatively flat sandy seabed, so navigating around the outside is relatively straightforward. Divers should maintain buoyancy control and awareness of potential silt disturbance.

Marine life around the wreck varies depending on the season. Expect to see a variety of reef fish common to the Arabian Gulf, including snapper, groupers, and possibly some schooling fish. The wreck itself provides habitat for invertebrates, such as crustaceans, and smaller fish. Coral growth on the wreck may be patchy.

The best time to visit is during the cooler months (November to April) when visibility is typically better and the water is calmer, and the temperature is more pleasant. Divers should check current conditions and sea state before embarking on the dive. Experienced divers are recommended due to the moderate depth and potential currents around the wreck.
