About this dive site
This dive site offers a unique freshwater experience at Alexander Springs, located within Florida's Ocala National Forest. The large basin, measuring 91 meters (300 feet) wide, is teeming with fish and underwater vegetation. Divers can explore a small cavern and encounter strong currents originating from an underwater vent. While alligators have been sighted, the site is considered safe for divers of all skill levels. The water maintains a consistent temperature of 22°C (72°F) year-round. Maximum depth reaches approximately 8 meters (27 feet), with average visibility ranging from 28 to 30 meters (91 to 100 feet). Camping facilities are available nearby, making it an ideal destination for both diving and outdoor recreation. Photo Credit: Becca Hurley.
