Bigelow Hollow State Park

This dive site is located at Mashapaug Pond, a 300-acre freshwater lake situated within the larger Bigelow Hollow State Park in Union, Connecticut. The park is part of the expansive 9000-acre Nipmuk Forest, offering a natural and varied environment. Divers can easily access the water from shore, and the area boasts a diverse population of fish and turtles. The surrounding landscape includes trees and rock formations adding to the appeal. The park provides numerous recreational opportunities beyond diving, such as hiking, camping, boating, and picnic areas – however, it can be quite busy on weekends, so an early arrival is recommended.
