About this dive site

This dive site, known as Lake Hydra and formerly Dutch Springs, is a unique spring-fed lake located north of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This quarry was once an active stone-producing area, now offering divers a fascinating underwater experience. The lake features multiple training platforms at depths of 10 feet, 15 feet, and 25 feet, making it suitable for various skill levels. Divers can explore a remarkable collection of submerged attractions including a Challenger airplane, a fire truck, sunken boats, a crane, a trolley car, a school bus, a 6x6 vehicle, a Cessna aircraft, and numerous other items from the quarry’s past. The area also includes old pumping stations and towers that provide additional exploration opportunities. Visibility within the lake is excellent, creating an immersive environment for underwater discovery.
