About this dive site
This dive site, Sheraton Caverns, is a highly popular location on the south side, consistently featured in approximately 8 out of every 10 boat trips. It’s unique due to access via a scooter adventure dive, offering an exclusive experience. The primary feature is a complex system of partially collapsed lava tubes that dominate the underwater landscape, creating numerous nooks and crannies ideal for marine life. Archways and overhangs provide spectacular swim-throughs and stunning scenery. Green turtles frequently use these tubes as resting spots, alongside schools of bluestripe snappers and surgeonfish. Larger inhabitants include white mouth moray eels, conger eels, and occasionally white tip reef sharks. Above the lava tubes, a healthy hard coral reef supports a variety of invertebrates like octopus, nudibranchs, frogfish, and harlequin shrimp. The site offers an ‘aquarium’ feel due to its diverse ecosystem and abundance of fascinating creatures.
