This dive site, North Pineapple Point or Hon Thom Bac, is a vibrant shallow reef located near Hon Thom island, part of the Phu Quoc archipelago. It features a very rocky bottom teeming with diverse coral growth, making it an excellent spot for detailed observation of marine life. Navigation is straightforward, staying within the relatively shallow depths.
Divers can expect to encounter a large colony of whip corals, various cuttlefish, and numerous reef fishes. The site is particularly rich in macro subjects, especially on the sandy base starting from 10 meters, offering great opportunities for close-up photography and identifying smaller creatures.
This site is ideal for coral and fish identification, as well as macro photography enthusiasts. Given its shallow maximum depth of 12 meters and average depth of 6 meters, along with generally mild currents, it is highly suitable for snorkelers and freedivers alike. The best time to visit typically aligns with Vietnam's dry season, offering optimal conditions, though it can be enjoyed year-round.
