About this dive site

This dive site presents a unique and challenging underwater experience. Strong currents are a consistent concern, requiring careful planning and preparation for divers of all levels. The area is renowned for its large pelagic fish, including sizable Kingfish and Mulloway, as well as frequent sightings of Grey Nurse Sharks inhabiting the deeper cave areas. Descending into the peak leads to an expansive swim-through – more akin to a tunnel than a traditional cave – offering access to a marine environment teeming with life. Within this underwater passage, you’ll discover unusual species like sea whips and sea tulips, which are uncommon in shallower waters. The cave floor reaches 39 meters deep, with surrounding areas potentially extending even further. Dive times tend to be relatively short, but the potential for encounters with impressive marine animals—particularly those Kingfish and Mulloway—makes it a rewarding experience. This dive site is generally considered advanced due to the current conditions and inherent challenges; therefore, thorough preparation and careful consideration are essential before embarking on this adventure.
