This dive site is Rye Pier, a well-known and beloved shore diving location in Melbourne. It's easily accessible and offers a fantastic experience for both day and night dives. The pier extends approximately 500 meters and features an L-shape. Growth on the pylons creates a visually interesting environment. Diving depths range from 2 to 6 meters, providing access to a diverse underwater ecosystem. The area is particularly famous for its abundance of Seahorses, making it one of the best places in the world to encounter these delicate creatures. Divers can also expect to see a variety of other marine life including octopus (various species), cuttlefish, giant smoothrays, leatherjackets, calamari, dumpling squid, goatfish, and large schools of salmon and pike during certain seasons, as well as impressive numbers of Giant Spider Crabs.
