About this dive site

This dive site, known as the Cathedral, offers a unique and popular underwater experience. Located off East End near Gurnet Rock in Bermuda, it’s a remarkable natural formation—a huge underwater dome resembling a vast subterranean cathedral. The site features several ‘windows’ that allow shafts of light to penetrate, creating an ethereal atmosphere. It's situated close to Castle Harbour and boasts abundant caves, canyons, and crevices, often providing shelter for crabs and lobsters. During the spring months, spectacular schools of colorful parrotfish are frequently observed passing through. Average depths range from 32.8 feet (10 meters), with good visibility. The Cathedral is a protected area within Bermuda, adding to its significance.
