About this dive site

This dive site features the Draga Massangana, a dredge that accidentally sank in 1981 while contributing to the founding of Suape harbour. Located near Cabo de Santo Agostinho, this wreck lies upside down at a maximum depth of 5 meters. Divers should exercise caution when exploring the site due to its inverted position.

Various marine organisms have made the wreck their home. The hull is adorned with corals, algae, and sponges, providing a vibrant underwater landscape. Divers can also encounter schools of grunts and porkfish, as well as occasional sightings of rays and turtles.

Being a shallow and accessible site, it's suitable for divers of all levels, especially beginners and those looking for an easy wreck dive. It's also excellent for snorkeling and freediving due to its minimal depth. While no specific best time to visit is mentioned, general good diving conditions in Brazil allow for year-round exploration of this historic wreck.
