About this dive site

This dive site is a fascinating wreck dive known as Kwarcit or Boris, located off the coast of Cape Verde. The wreck, a Russian fishing trawler built in the late 1970s, was involved in transporting illegal workers from Senegal when it sank in January 2006. Remarkably, it remains upright with its hull intact and is rapidly transforming into an artificial reef. Divers can explore easily penetrable areas such as the holds and bridge. A diverse ecosystem has already begun to flourish around the wreck, including stingray, schools of jackfish, nurse sharks, various crustaceans, endemic nudibranchs, and even frogfish. This dive offers a unique opportunity to witness the rebirth of a vessel and observe a thriving underwater community.
