About this dive site
This dive site offers a remarkably abundant underwater experience, characterized by a diverse array of marine life. Located near Quebec, this area is renowned for its arctic waters and features an abundance of sea urchins, feathery anemones, northern red anemones, cerianthus, and crabs – a truly captivating spectacle. The Quebec Federation of Subaquatic Activities (FQAS), in collaboration with the marine environment discovery center, provides guided outings to help visitors explore this unique ecosystem. Diving here is particularly enjoyable due to on-site facilities including equipment rinsing and hot showers. Currents vary significantly with the tides, adding an element of exploration as divers discover their patterns. It’s worth noting that at certain times, drift dives are possible to adjacent sites like ‘Baie des anémones’ and ‘Crique Est’, while other times allow for a return dive. During surface intervals, opportunities exist to observe whales or seals in their natural habitat. The area is considered moderately challenging due to the dynamic currents.
