About this dive site
This dive site is located in Curaçao, specifically between the Tugboat wreck and Small Wall. It’s a historic landmark with a fascinating story dating back to the early 1900s when the Directors of the Royal Dutch Shell Group and the Dutch Royal family exclusively used this bay. For many years, it was considered private. A unique feature is an old, decaying surge protection device—now encrusted with vibrant corals and sponges – that serves as a prominent underwater structure. Local legend suggests that Queen Juliana was so afraid of fish that she requested a caged section be built in the bay to enhance her enjoyment and provide relaxation. Diving along the vertical wall towards Small Wall reaches a maximum depth of approximately 15 meters, offering opportunities to encounter diverse marine life. The area is suitable for divers and snorkelers alike, providing an engaging experience for beachgoers as well.
