About this dive site

This dive site is located near Mushroom Forest at the end of a one-kilometer stretch of land in the Santa Cruz area of Banda Abou, Curaçao. It’s an intriguing spot accessed through a narrow opening at water level – easily passable without noticing it. The Blue Room began as a convenient place for divers to rest and prepare between excursions into Mushroom Forest; snorkelers can also explore this small air-filled cavern, which is only about 20 feet deep. Initially a local novelty, the site gained recognition after photographer Amos Nachoum captured its unique beauty in 2006, describing it as ‘nirvana’ for photographers and explorers due to its intimate space and perfect light. During late August and September, the cavern becomes illuminated by silversides, creating a mesmerizing display of shimmering movement. The Blue Room is now considered an essential Curaçao experience, renowned for its unforgettable atmosphere.
