About this dive site

This dive site, known locally as Kakoskali on St George’s Island, offers a unique diving experience. The name 'Kakoskali' translates to ‘bad steps’, reflecting the varying depths of the area. Divers can explore an impressive wall feature that extends from the seabed almost to the surface. A gradual descent or direct drop-off from 12 meters down to 35 meters provides access to this dramatic underwater landscape. The wall is adorned with vibrant algae and corals, creating a visually stunning environment. Expect to encounter fascinating marine life such as dotted nudibranchs, slipper lobsters, and potentially moray eels hiding within the walls. As you ascend along the wall, you’ll discover interesting formations. A particular highlight is a cave filled with Moluccan Sweepers – gold-colored fish characterized by their huge black eyes, typically found in dark areas.
