White Knight

This dive site, White Knight, is located off the coast of Marsa Alam, Egypt. The reef wall gently slopes down to a sandy plateau at approximately 13 meters, creating a relatively easy navigation for divers of all experience levels. A central gully cuts through the reef, featuring intriguing swim-throughs at 10 meters and a deeper one at 35 meters (though the maximum depth stated is 20m, so the deeper swim through might not be commonly explored). An eel garden flourishes to the north, offering a vibrant spectacle of garden eels swaying in the current. The marine life at White Knight is diverse and abundant. Garden eels are a major attraction in their dedicated garden, but the site also boasts a healthy population of triggerfish, groupers, and the occasional manta ray. The reef itself supports a rich variety of coral and smaller fish, providing ample opportunities for macro photography. The best time to visit White Knight is during the warmer months, from April to October, when water temperatures are most pleasant and visibility is generally at its best. Divers and freedivers alike should be mindful of the mild currents and pay attention to their air supply or breath-hold times. The swim-throughs should be approached with caution, ensuring sufficient air/breath-hold capacity. Always practice safe diving procedures and check weather conditions beforehand.
