About this dive site
This dive site is located in the Straits of Tiran, specifically the longest of four reefs. It’s a popular drift dive, typically undertaken from South to North. The southern end features a wall descending to approximately 30 meters, offering an opportunity to observe sleeping sharks on the sandy patches below. Coral growth extends down this wall, gradually sloping towards deeper areas. Midway along the reef, a canyon emerges at around 25 meters, branching out into a coral garden and sand alleys – often where currents intensify. If west-facing conditions are unfavorable, the dive must conclude near the coral garden after about 50 minutes. Weather permitting, exploration beyond this point is possible, leading towards Jackson Reef. This section, known as ‘the washing machine,’ is characterized by strong currents in multiple directions. Visibility can vary.
