About this dive site
This dive site, L'Arche, is located a short boat ride from Golfe Juan, France. It features a prominent 27.5-meter arch that opens onto a dramatic drop-off descending to 48 meters. Divers typically explore the arch and shallower sections, ascending towards Fourmigue Nord for safety stops among the rocks. The descent and ascent offer diverse underwater landscapes and opportunities for exploration.
The site teems with a variety of marine life, including lobsters, gorgonians, barracudas, dentex, moray eels, and numerous rockfish. The rocky structures are also colonized by a colorful array of algae and anemones, creating a vibrant and visually stunning underwater environment. This biodiversity makes it a rewarding site for both macro and wide-angle photography.
The best time to visit L'Arche is likely during the warmer months, typically from May to October, when water temperatures are most pleasant and visibility is usually best. It is an advanced dive site; careful planning, appropriate diving skills, and awareness of potential currents are essential. Freediving is not recommended due to the depth and potential for strong currents.
