About this dive site

This dive site is located at Rutsch'n on Murner See, near Wackersdorf in the Upper Palatinate Lake District. The lake has a fascinating history as a former brown coal mining operation. You’ll find intriguing artifacts from this past alongside freshwater vegetation, carp, pike and catfish within the clear, blue waters. The bottom of the lake descends to 47 meters (147 feet), so pay attention to your depth gauge while exploring. It's a sizable area, making it an excellent location for using an underwater scooter or DPV. Visibility typically ranges from 10 to 15 meters (32 to 49 feet). Beyond the diving, the surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling, camping and boat rentals – making it a popular holiday destination.
