About this dive site

This dive site, known as Trigger Reef, offers a relaxing experience. The reef gently slopes down to approximately 14 meters, making it ideal for divers who prefer not to descend too deeply. The area gets its name due to the regular sightings of triggerfish (Balistes Carolinensis), a rare species from the Red Sea – keep an eye out! You'll also likely encounter octopus, moray eels, and other common reef fish found in the Mediterranean. A particularly rewarding aspect of this dive is the opportunity to observe vibrant nudibranchs like flabelina affinis, known for their bright purple coloration and the cratena peregrina with its distinctive white body adorned with orange, purple, or dark blue tentacles. These fascinating creatures feed on soft coral moss, making them a popular subject for macro photography. The best time to visit is during the summer months when these nudibranchs are most frequently seen.
