Bunutan
Diverse reef with a vast eel garden and sharks.
About this dive site
This dive site is located in Bunutan, stretching from the Banjar area to Lipah, and you have to reach it by boat (only a few minutes ride)
It offers a diverse underwater experience starting on a sandy bottom, frequently encountering turtles and smaller marine life. A prominent feature is the massive Eel Garden, boasting thousands of eels dwelling amongst the black sand, swaying with the current. Upon reaching the reef, divers can expect encounters with Lionfish, puffers, Honeycomb Moray eels, and a rich variety of other fish species amidst numerous barrel sponges.
The reef descends to depths exceeding 40 meters, where currents intensify and larger marine animals become more common – including White Tip Reef Sharks, Giant Barracuda, Yellow Tail Barracuda, abundant Blue Spotted Stingrays, Eagle Rays, and many more. In shallower areas, vibrant Fan Coral and substantial hard coral formations with expansive coral bommies are readily observed. This is a truly spectacular dive destination.
