About this dive site

This dive site is located in the right-hand corner of Manta Bay, nestled within the Nusa Penida rock face. The area features ‘The Crack,’ a dramatic 20-meter-long fissure with an impressive width of 8 meters and a depth of 11 meters. Formed by millions of years of wave action, this geological formation offers a unique topographical dive experience. Descending into The Crack reveals a canyon rising another 40 meters above, presenting a spectacular visual spectacle. Clear visibility in the area allows for an unparalleled view of this underwater chasm. The surrounding seabed is diverse, consisting of sandy bottoms, coral rubble, encrusting corals, and vibrant coral bommies – creating a rich habitat for various marine life. During colder periods, wobbygong sharks and bamboo sharks often seek refuge within the crevices and overhangs. Occasionally, pods of dolphins can be spotted traversing the bay. The Crack is an ideal location for introductory dives, Open Water courses, and more advanced explorations. It's important to exercise caution during high swell days due to potentially strong surge currents, and boat traffic in the area is considerable.
