About this dive site
This dive site offers a unique and engaging experience for divers of all levels. The location provides excellent logistics, including convenient parking near the bar Rapanui. The area has been meticulously designed as an underwater ‘palestra,’ featuring a chain of artificial reefs with various submerged objects intended to distract divers from potentially poor visibility in warmer months and colder seasons.
The primary dive point is the famous Campana dei Vetri (Glass Bell), recently restored in 2011, serving as a central hub for several exploration routes. From here, divers can choose between multiple paths: following an electrical cable to the Astronani (-40 meters), encountering a miniature presepe and a functional office setup; or exploring a Playmobile ‘police’ station with a PVC tube leading to altars adorned with broken amphorae from the Bucanieri Sub group, culminating in a monumental sculpture honoring Gigi and Emilio at approximately -13 meters. Additional paths include a series of underwater benches, a large sailing yacht and a boiler, all interconnected by thin cables – providing an array of interesting discoveries. For experienced divers, a longer swim to ‘Vele’ (Sails) at 30 meters is possible but requires a considerable distance of approximately 20 minutes.
The site caters to diverse skill levels, with options ranging from introductory explorations near the beach to more challenging dives venturing deeper into the lake.
