About this dive site

This dive site is the Cedar Pride, a large 80m cargo ship that sank in 1985. Now resting on its port side spanning two reefs, it offers a fascinating wreck dive with penetration opportunities for experienced divers, while shallower areas are perfect for beginners. Navigation is straightforward, following the wreck's structure. The ship's history adds intrigue, offering a glimpse into maritime past.

The wreck itself is teeming with marine life. Hawksbill turtles are a common sight, along with the occasional large Napoleon wrasse. Smaller creatures abound, including nudibranchs, frogfish, and ghost pipefish. The ship's masts are covered in a vibrant array of hard and soft corals, adding to the visual spectacle. Various reef fish complete the underwater ecosystem.

The best time to visit is during the warmer months, from April to October, when visibility is generally excellent and the water temperature is more comfortable. Divers and freedivers alike will enjoy exploring the diverse habitats this wreck provides. Remember to maintain buoyancy control to avoid damaging the fragile coral and wreck structure. Always dive with a buddy and inform someone onshore of your dive plan.
