This dive site, Plage des Amoureux, is located 12km from Nosy Be, a short 35-minute boat ride away. It's a protected marine park with an entrance fee, ensuring its preservation and the thriving ecosystem within. The dive site itself is relatively shallow, making it accessible to divers of all levels. Navigation is straightforward, with generally calm conditions and clear visibility.
The marine life is exceptionally rich and diverse. Divers can expect to encounter a wide array of colorful coral formations teeming with life. Leopard sharks, white tip reef sharks, guitarfish, groupers, turtles, crocodilefish, seahorses, stonefish, and barracuda are just some of the species that call this site home. The abundance of smaller fish and invertebrates adds to the overall richness of the underwater landscape.
The best time to visit Plage des Amoureux is during the dry season (April to October), when visibility is typically at its best and the weather is favorable. Freedivers will find the shallow, clear waters ideal for exploring the reef.
