This dive site, known as TDB House Reef, is a gentle sandy slope easily accessible from the beach. It starts shallow and gradually deepens from the shore, becoming steeper from 6 meters down to 16 meters, though the primary diving area for training is shallower. It's an excellent location for fundamental dive training and skills development due to its calm and protected nature.
Divers can frequently spot Black-Tip Reef Sharks, Hawksbill and Green Turtles, and Blue-Spotted String Rays. Other common residents include Maze Pufferfish and White-Eyed Moray Eels, alongside various small reef fish and benthic creatures typically found in healthy shallow reef environments.
The best time to visit Tioman is generally during the dry season from March to October for optimal diving conditions, offering good visibility and calm seas. This site is particularly recommended for those undergoing certification, refining buoyancy skills, or trying scuba for the first time. It is also well-suited for snorkelers and freedivers due to its accessibility and shallow depths.
