About this dive site
This dive site, Bodu Hithi Manta Point, is renowned as one of the premier manta cleaning stations in the North Male Atoll, Maldives. Reached via a 60-minute boat ride, divers typically position themselves to observe the majestic manta rays as they visit the station. There is no specific historical background or unique navigation beyond observing the cleaning station itself, which is generally straightforward.
During peak season, the star attractions are undoubtedly the manta rays, visiting for cleaning. Even outside of manta season, the site teems with vibrant marine life, including various species of sharks, turtles, and a multitude of colourful reef fish, indicative of a healthy coral ecosystem.
The optimal period to visit for manta encounters is during the northeast monsoon, spanning from December to April. This site is suitable for both snorkelers and freedivers, especially during the manta season when these gentle giants can be observed in shallower waters. Scuba divers will find it a pleasant experience regardless, with ample reef life to explore.
