About this dive site

This dive site, Guhli Corner, offers a rewarding alternative to the more frequented Miyaru Faru, particularly when oceanic currents flow from the southeast. Often concluding a channel crossing from Miyaru Faru, it provides an engaging drift dive experience along its reef edge. While no specific historical accounts are noted, its strategic location at a channel corner naturally attracts diverse marine life. Divers can expect to encounter an abundance of pelagic species, including impressive schools of eagle rays, white tip sharks, and grey reef sharks. Hawksbill and green turtles are also commonly seen, alongside marble and feather tail stingrays. The vibrant reef is home to large napoleon wrasse, swift dogtooth tunas, and a variety of colorful reef fish. The small overhangs are adorned with beautiful hard and soft corals. The best time to visit Guhli Corner is when the oceanic current runs from the southeast, providing optimal conditions for a drift dive and maximizing pelagic encounters. It serves as an excellent site for both scuba divers and freedivers, with an average depth suitable for extended bottom times and a maximum depth accessible to most certified divers. For freedivers, the presence of large pelagics in shallower parts makes it particularly appealing.
