About this dive site

This dive site, Magu, is a versatile wall dive catering to divers of all experience levels, known for its easy and protected conditions. The top reef starts around 5 meters and dramatically drops to about 25 meters, forming a vibrant wall with numerous small overhangs to explore. Divers navigate along this wall, focusing on these crevices for hidden marine life. While no specific history or story is provided, its natural formation offers a rich topographical experience. Magu boasts a rich array of marine animals. Divers can expect to encounter large creatures such as stingrays, various species of turtles, and nurse sharks, with occasional sightings of rare zebra sharks, eagle rays, and blacktip reef sharks. When in season, mantas are frequently observed passing in the blue. The wall itself is home to smaller inhabitants like lobsters, nudibranchs, and scorpionfish. Near the end of the dive, a playful "batfish gang" often greets divers. The best time to visit Magu for manta ray encounters is during their specific season, referred to as "the right month" in the description. This site is excellent for both scuba divers and freedivers, with its shallow top reef ideal for snorkeling and the wall offering depth for breath-hold diving. Divers should pay close attention to the small overhangs and crevices where much of the macro life and smaller animals reside, while also keeping an eye on the blue for larger pelagic species.
