About this dive site

This dive site, Prisca Corner, is situated on the north east end of Maabadhifaru island, accessible via a 15-minute boat ride from Joy. Divers typically start inside the reef, exploring a series of fascinating overhangs and even a thrilling swim-through. The topography then gradually transforms into a steeper slope as it approaches the corner, offering a dynamic and engaging underwater navigation experience. The slope at Prisca Corner is richly adorned with vibrant hard corals, creating a bustling ecosystem. Keen-eyed divers can spot various marine life, including octopuses cleverly hidden within small caves. The site is also known for larger pelagic species such as Napoleons, White Tip Reef Sharks, and, when currents are favorable, even impressive Grey Reef Sharks. The best time to visit Prisca Corner, and the Maldives in general, is during the dry season from November to April, when calm seas and excellent visibility prevail. Divers should be prepared for potentially variable currents, which can be a key factor in attracting larger shark species to the corner. This site is also suitable for freedivers who can enjoy the vibrant shallow reef sections and explore the deeper parts.
