About this dive site

This dive site, Rasdhoo Beyru Kandu, is situated on the north outer reef of the Rasdhoo Atoll in the Maldives. It features an impressive vertical wall that descends and then transitions into a reef slope at depths beyond 25 meters. The site is primarily explored as a drift dive when currents are active, offering an exciting flow along the reef. It is often recommended as an alternative for big fish encounters if manta rays are not present at local cleaning stations. Divers can anticipate frequent encounters with large pelagic species such as reef sharks, mobula rays, eagle rays, and even dolphins. The vibrant top reef is teeming with schools of sweetlips and numerous other colorful reef fish, thriving among healthy coral formations. While the Maldives generally offers excellent diving conditions year-round, big pelagic sightings can be seasonal; however, this site reliably delivers exciting encounters. Divers should be prepared for potential currents, making it an ideal spot for experienced drift divers. Both snorkelers and freedivers can explore the shallower reef crest and the upper sections of the wall, enjoying the abundance of marine life and the clear Maldivian waters.
