Ahrax Inland Sea

This dive site is Ahrax Inland Sea in Malta, featuring a fascinating rock canyon leading to an underwater cave entrance at 9 meters. Navigation is relatively straightforward, following the canyon down to the cave entrance. The inland sea accessed through the cave offers a unique and stunning play of light. There is no known specific history or story behind this dive site, beyond its geological formation. Marine life includes Mediterranean sea bream, stingrays, moray eels, lumpfish, and bear crabs, although sightings depend on the time of year. The rocky canyon and cave itself provide varied habitats supporting this diverse ecosystem. Visibility is generally good, allowing for good underwater photography. The best time to visit is during the warmer months (May to October) when visibility is optimal and marine life is more active. For freedivers, the relatively shallow depth and clear visibility are ideal.
