About this dive site
This dive site presents the Bristol Blenheim Bomber, a World War II aircraft wreck located off the coast of Xrobb l-Ghagin in Malta. The plane was originally built by the Bristol Aeroplane Company and served with the British Royal Air Force. It crashed into the sea during a mission to Kefalonia, Greece, after being hit by enemy fire. Remarkably, the pilot and crew survived the ditching.
The wreck rests approximately 500 meters from Xrobb l-Ghagin on Malta's East Coast at a depth of around 42 meters. The site features sand and small reefs surrounding the aircraft. While in decent condition, with wings and radial engines largely intact, the port engine propeller is missing, and the starboard propeller is bent. The cockpit cover has been removed, and the fuselage is broken off and lies nearby, partially buried under the sand, upside down. The pilot’s seat is also gone. This wreck offers a compelling dive for experienced divers who can handle potentially strong currents.
