About this dive site

This dive site, located just off the coast of Isla Mujeres, is renowned as MUSA (Museo Subacuático de Arte), a significant underwater sculpture park. Established in 2009 by Roberto Diaz and Jason deCaire Taylor, it has grown into a major attraction, hosting thousands of visitors annually. The project continues to evolve with new artistic additions. MUSA encompasses a substantial area including the Manchones Reefs, where over 500 statues are placed. The site is divided into two main sections. The first area features intriguing elements like small houses, a navigable ring, and simulated 'time bombs'. A five-minute swim separates this section from the second. The second section showcases the acclaimed ‘Silent Evolution’ installation, comprising more than 450 sculptures representing local people and fishermen. You'll also discover two full-sized cars and statues with their heads partially submerged in the sand. At the end of the dive, small pagoda-style structures are visible. MUSA offers diving and snorkeling opportunities suitable for all experience levels.
