Steves Ledge

This dive site, Steves Ledge, located off the coast of Mozambique, is a popular choice for newly certified divers due to its relatively shallow depth and calm conditions. Navigation is straightforward, generally following the ledge's contours. The site's history is not widely documented, but its popularity among divers suggests it has been a known site for some time. The underwater topography is characterized by a relatively flat sandy seabed broken up by rocky outcrops and coral formations.

The rich biodiversity of Steves Ledge offers encounters with various species of fish and marine life. Divers can expect to observe Black Cheek Moray Eels, Lionfish, Honeycomb morays, Blue spotted rays, large rays, Potato Bass (Potato Grouper), Scorpion Fish, and various types of Plate Coral. The abundance of smaller fish and invertebrates provides ample opportunities for macro photography.

The best time to visit Steves Ledge is during the dry season (April to October), when the water is generally clearer and the currents milder. For freedivers, the shallow depth and calm conditions make it a perfect location for practice.
