About this dive site
This dive site is a truly remarkable location, often described as a hidden gem within the Poor Knights Islands. It offers a unique experience – one of the few times you'll want to surface during your dive. The adventure begins from the anchorage at 20-30 meters, where you’ll follow a wall leading into a fascinating tunnel that starts around 19 meters and gradually descends to 10 meters. This tunnel is lined with lush kelp, vibrant green sea rimu, and an incredible abundance of Warritah/common anemones – one of the largest congregations you're likely to encounter. Once the light fades, you’ll enter a captivating underwater cave, featuring a skylight-like opening in the islands. Take your time enjoying this serene space. After surfacing, prepare for a breathtaking spectacle: a beautiful, hidden cave with a stunning skylight. Descending once more, you'll be treated to the mesmerizing effect of a blue grotto, with streaming light beams creating an unforgettable scene – truly, it’s like exploring a cenote of the Poor Knights.
