This dive site, Decorator Bay in Oman, offers a gradual slope from a sandy bottom at 3.5 meters to a maximum depth of 14 meters. The sandy area is perfect for beginner divers to practice skills and build confidence, before moving into the more vibrant coral formations. The dive site is well-suited for both course dives and recreational dives due to its manageable depth and diverse marine life.

The marine life found in Decorator Bay is quite varied. Divers can spot lobsters hiding beneath the boulders, while vibrant schools of sergeant majors swim around 10 meters. The site is also known for its exceptional macro life, including beautiful nudibranchs and various shrimp species. Soft and hard corals create a colorful and attractive landscape that provides shelter for numerous fish and invertebrates.

The best time to visit Decorator Bay is during the cooler months, from October to April, when visibility is generally better and the water temperature is more comfortable. For freedivers, the calm conditions and shallow areas of Decorator Bay make it an excellent location for shallow dives. Experienced freedivers may find more excitement in deeper sections with the possibility to observe a wider array of marine life and explore the rock formations, however always remember safety and planning is key when freediving.
