Qantab Reef

This dive site is a fringing reef located in Qantab, Oman, offering an accessible and enjoyable dive experience for divers of all levels, particularly beginners. The reef starts at a shallow 5 meters and gently slopes down to a maximum depth of 15 meters, making navigation straightforward and comfortable. The site is well known for its abundant marine life and vibrant coral formations.

The marine life at Qantab Reef is incredibly diverse. Divers can expect to encounter a wide variety of hard and soft corals, colorful fish, lobsters hiding in rock crevices, occasional stingrays gracefully gliding across the sandy bottom, and the elusive crocodile fish camouflaged amongst the reef. Macro enthusiasts will be delighted by the opportunities to spot nudibranchs and shrimps.

The best time to visit Qantab Reef is during the warmer months, from October to May, when the water is clearer and calmer. Visibility is generally good, and the milder currents make for a more relaxing dive. While this site is suitable for both scuba diving and freediving, it's recommended to check current conditions before entering the water. Remember to maintain a respectful distance from the marine life and avoid touching the coral.
